Bali 7-day itinerary

Bali is back baby! How exciting. It's time to start planning your trip.

Whether you've been a million times or never, this trusty itinerary will help you to plan your next Bali getaway. Continue reading for a detailed 7-day itinerary.

Day 1

Today, you're going to account for the international flight, getting through customs, and arriving at your hotel.

Arrive at Ngurah Rai International Airport from your home destination. Allow 2+ hours to complete customs, PCR testing and relevant paperwork at the airport.

Drive 30 min - 1 hour (+1 hour if travelling outside of the main tourist areas) to arrive at your hotel depending on the destination.

Check in to your hotel and enjoy the facilities today. Try the hotel's swimming pool and restaurant or nearby restaurants for lunch or dinner.

Day 2

It's day 2 and after your long journey to Bali, you'll want to relax. Enjoy breakfast at your hotel. Most hotel stays will include a generous buffet breakfast. If yours doesn't, head to the nearest breakfast spot - Sisterfields and Cafe Organic Bali in Seminyak are popular.

Next, head to the nearest spa and book yourself in for a Balinese massage and get your zen on. For a cheap option, you can go to the beachfront and get a massage from a friendly local but if you're looking for a more luxe option, try Prana Spa or Bodyworks Spa.

Afterwards, hit up Eat Street in Seminyak for a feed and some drinks where you'll be spoilt for choice for dinner options.

Day 3

Now that you're feeling settled in and more familiar with your surroundings, it's time to get a bit more adventurous.

After breakfast, head to Kuta and Legian to pick up some souvenirs from your trip. In the markets, you'll find plenty of goodies and a lot of fake designer wear. Try your luck at haggling but be wary not to get ripped off. If the markets aren't your thing, go to Beachwalk Shopping Centre in Kuta for familiar brands.

Next, head to the beach for some surfing action. Or you can just chill on the sand if surfing's not your thing.

Tonight, get ready to party at one of the hottest beach clubs in town for a sunset cocktail and to see where the night takes you. Check out Finns Beach Club or KU DE TA for uninterrupted ocean views.

Day 4

Hopefully, you didn't have too much fun last night that you can't get out of bed today because there’s lots to do! Today, you'll hire a driver to take you to Ubud (try to organise this in advance through the hotel concierge).

Hop in the car with a pre-booked driver for your 1.5-2 hour trip to Ubud. Once you've arrived in Ubud you can visit more markets in the town centre, chill out in a spa amongst the rice paddies, or go to the monkey forest (just don't wear any jewellery to the monkey forest as they are known for stealing loose items). Try Bebek Bengil for a unique dining experience in Ubud for lunch.

You might be tired after your day of adventuring in the mountains so take it easy tonight and relax at a beautiful restaurant. Head back to Seminyak or go a slower pace in Sanur.

Day 5

Today you're going on another adventure... because we said so!

Book yourself on a boat trip to Nusa Lembongan and spend the day out there. Only 30 minutes by speed boat, this small island is an untapped piece of paradise that a lot of tourists skip. Get yourself on a tour that includes snorkelling, lunch, a tour of the island, and relaxation time at one of the resorts located literally on the beach.

You will spend all day out on the island so you won't arrive back to Bali until 5-6 pm. Not to worry, the beach clubs and restaurants are open late so head out there to enjoy the party. Try Motel Mexicola or La Favela tonight.

Day 6

It's day 6 of a jam-packed holiday and you'll probably want to relax by this point. But don't worry, relaxing in Bali doesn't have to be boring because you're going to do it at Waterbom Water Park in Kuta. Slip and slide your way through the park, laze away in the lazy river, or sip a cocktail by the pool in your private cabana.

After Waterbom, take it easy and catch a sunset cocktail at La Plancha.

Day 7

It's your last day in Bali, how sad! Enjoy one last breakfast before you check out of your hotel. If you don't have to go to the airport straight away leave your luggage at the hotel and go get one last massage before your long flight or grab some last-minute souvenirs from the markets.

Allow three to four hours before your flight departs to get to the airport and get through customs, and enjoy one last Bintang at the airport bar before boarding your flight home.
