REPORT: Singapore Airlines Boeing 777 Business Class Review

Updated: Jan 28, 2020

Recently I was privileged enough to travel on one of Singapore Airline’s latest business class products which is featured on the Boeing 777 and Airbus A350.

I flew Singapore Airlines from Singapore to Beijing on a Boeing 777 with a total flight time of just under six hours. A perfect amount of time to discover what the world’s best airline has on offer in their business class product!

Upon boarding the plane, I was immediately greeted by a friendly and clearly experienced cabin crew. No one can board a SIA flight without immediately noticing the chic Singapore Girl cabin crew uniforms, which were designed by iconic fashion house Balmain. I was shown to my seat by a friendly hostess and service began immediately with a selection of take-off drinks to choose from. I happily accepted a glass of champagne and got comfy in my seat.

The Boeing 777 has a first-business-economy layout. In the first and business class cabins the seats are designed in a 1-2-1 configuration, allowing direct aisle access for all passengers. The seats in business class are very wide and spacious, I felt like I could fit another person next to me!

The seats are designed for the utmost privacy and I felt like I was in my own little cocoon. There was enough space for all my belongings and to stretch out comfortably. There are many storage compartments within the seat which have sliding or press doors to ensure your belongings do not fall out during take-off and landing. There is also a space under the seat to place your shoes. The seats come fully equipped with USB ports and an international plug socket to fit any charging device. One of the USB ports enables passengers to connect their device to the large TV screen to stream directly from their phone or tablet. The seat controls are placed conveniently on the arm rest, as is the remote control for the TV.

The seat converts into a fully flat bed, but because this was a daytime service, only a blanket was provided if passengers wanted to rest. I must note that at first I thought the seat was not designed to be able to lay down in full comfort due to the small space for your feet, however once reclining the seat into a fully flat bed I realised the seat was wide enough so you can sleep diagonally and fit your feet comfortably into the designated space.

The entertainment system ‘Kris World’ had a wide variety of movies, TV shows, music and games. The flight map was one of the best ones I have seen due to it showing an interactive flight path which moves along the route so that passengers can see how the flight will travel.

The remote control was easy to use and very responsive.

It was now time for dinner service. The post-take-off snack was traditional Malaysian satay skewers in a peanut sauce which was very delicious! The appetiser was a smoked salmon salad served with a bread roll. For my main I chose the beef tenderloin with potato bake and a side of vegetables with a red wine jus drizzled on top. It was absolutely scrumptious, and I was very impressed with the presentation of the meal, it looked very 5-star. For dessert I was given a rice pudding with a berry coulis and a selection of cheeses with fruit. The meal was very tasty and filling.

Singapore airlines offers amenities in the bathroom to help further refresh yourself during the flight. Amenities on offer included razors, tooth brushes, hair brushes, creams and perfumes.

I arrived at my destination feeling well rested and refreshed and the cabin crew were very friendly and attentive. I certainly can see why Singapore Airlines has been voted the best airline in the world on multiple occasions. I would recommend all Singapore Airlines products as they will get you to your destination in comfort and style.

I hope you also get to experience this wonderful business class product. It's easy to see why it has been ranked in the top business class product for a few years running. Happy travels!
