Sometimes referred to as the land of good vibes and the Hemsworth brothers hideout, Byron Bay has been a much-loved beachside getaway for many years and now it's time for you to enjoy it too.

With this 5-day itinerary, you can get a good scope of what Byron has to offer and leave feeling refreshed and relaxed. Continue on to start planning your Byron Bay getaway.

Day 1 in Byron Bay

You’re headed to Byron Bay, Australia’s hippy capital. You can either fly into the Gold Coast (recommended as it’s the cheapest option) and get a transfer to Byron, fly into Ballina-Byron Airport, or drive two-and-a-half hours from Brisbane or eight hours from Sydney to get there.

After your arrival, take it easy and check into your hotel or Airbnb and then head to the centre of town and Main Beach. Try the Beach Hotel for a late lunch/dinner for uninterrupted views of Main Beach as the sun goes down.

Day 2 in Byron Bay

Today, head straight to Main Beach for some surfing and sand action. Most surfers head over to The Pass for some epic waves.

Then, head over to Wategos Beach for a little secluded slice of paradise and have lunch at Raes.

Try Byron Fresh Cafe (next door to the Beach Hotel) for a healthy but delicious dinner.

Day 3 in Byron Bay

If you have a car and are up for an adventure, go waterfall chasing today in Mount Jerusalem National Park. Drive up to Unicorn Falls for a secluded waterhole experience in the rainforest!

On your way back to Byron, stop in the quaint town of Mullumbimby and hit up the local bakery for lunch.

Tonight you must go to No Bones for the best, all-vegan meal you will ever eat. It’s like you won’t even know it’s vegan!

Day 4 in Byron Bay

No trip to Byron is complete without a walk up to the famous Byron Bay Lighthouse.

Start your day at Combi Byron Bay for an acai bowl before you commence the two-hour walk to the top of Cape Byron and the Byron Bay Lighthouse. Stop along the way at Wategos Beach and snap a pic at Australia’s most easterly point. Once at the top, treat yourself to something sweet at the Cape Byron Lighthouse Cafe - you deserve it!

Spend the rest of the afternoon shopping in the boutiques in the town centre and pick yourself up a luxe souvenir to remind you of your time in Byron. Try Casa Luna for dinner tonight to celebrate your trip.

Day 5 in Byron Bay

Sadly the time has come to say goodbye to Byron for now.

If you have a bit of time up your sleeve, enjoy some more shopping and one last acai bowl in the town centre before going home.
